Saint Alexandra Saint Alexandra was the wife of the emperor who connected his existence with the harshest persecutions of Christians (303 – 311 AD). He was a cruel, violent man and she was a calm, philanthropic and compassionate woman. The violent death of St. George led her to the path of Christ and in fact clearly against the will of her husband. She declared to everyone that his actions were inhuman and unbecoming of a man who wears a crown and publicly confessed that she too was a Christian. The emperor wanted to attribute her confession to mental disorder, but she insisted on her faith. He left the earthly life just two days after the death of the Great Martyr George.
