Saint Constantine His father was Constantius Chlorus and his mother was Saint Helen, Constantine the Great grew up in the imperial court of the Roman Empire, mixed with dozens of different religions. After the death of his father, who held the high office of Augustus, Constantine the Great was proclaimed Augustus in the West, with Galerius holding the same office in the East. However, Galerius and later Maxentius, Maximilian's son, did not accept the position of Constantine the Great. He, weakened, invoked the power of God, not knowing which God to turn to. While he was praying he saw in the sky the Cross with the inscription "toto nika". That same night he saw in his dream the symbol of the cross which urged him to make imitations and with them as a talisman to go to wars. By the power of God he advanced unmolested to Rome. He turned his attention to Christians, wherever they were, and in February 313 AD, he achieved the historic agreement of secularism. He defended the Trinity of God and the unity of the church for many years, with continuous Synods. In the last period of his life, Constantine the Great, suffering from some serious illness, went to the birthplace of his mother, Saint Helen, in Helenopolis, Bithynia, and decided to repent and be baptized. He went to Nicomedia, summoned the Bishops and was baptized. After his baptism, Saint Constantine never again wore his imperial robe, but only the white garment of his baptism.
