Image crafted on canvas with a gold background on engraved wood. The figure comes with a free stand. Saint Ludmila He was born in 856 AD. from pagan parents in the Czech Republic. At the age of 16, she married the ruler of the Czechs, Borivoja. They both became Christians when the two Missionaries of the Slavs, Cyril and Methodius, arrived in the Czech Republic. They built a church and called priests to teach the people the word of God. With the death of Borivoia she continued her work and the upbringing of her four children, three boys and a daughter. When her grandson ascended the throne, her daughter-in-law Dragomira reinstated paganism and ordered Ludmilla's death by hanging in 917 AD, at the age of 62.
