An old picture made on canvas on natural wood, with a colored background. The halo of the image is silver with local gold plated gold and has been decorated with European Crystals. The image is accompanied by a free support base. Saint Nikolaos The image of Saint Nikolaos according to the style of the Russian School is characterized by the intense, bright colors, the inert lines of the face, the brightness of the flesh and the definition of the design. Saint Nikolaos wears an elaborate crown and white crescent with three crosses. With his left hand he keeps the gospel shut and with his right hand he blesses. Christ and Our Lady on either side of the Saint on a smaller scale are depicted on small clouds and they hold the gospel and the shoulder, as defined by the established iconography. The face of the Saint, with a white, rounded beard and white hair, is shaded by a slight wrinkle on the forehead. The depiction of the Saint in this image of Russian style agrees with the image painted by the Saint, around 1,500 AD.
