Saint Pantelemon Saint Panteleimon, from Nicomedia, Asia Minor, followed Christianity, which he met from his mother Eubulis. He was subdued and baptized by the elder priest of his Church, Ermolaus, and was also trained in medicine. His faith gave him the miracle. With his faith in Christ and his medical knowledge he healed every man in need without asking for any financial reward, while he had made sure to distribute all the great fortune he had inherited from his father, who, although national, just before he died was baptized a Christian. The physicians of the area denounced him to the king of Nicomedia Diocletian (286–305 AD), a man who was a stern and warring man of Christianity, who subjected him to dozens of tortures, from which Panteleimon miraculously survived. In the end he was decapitated. His memory is celebrated on July 27.
