The Crucifixion Vatopedi Monastery is the largest building complex of the Monastery of Mount Athos. The Catholic is built as early as the 10th century, while its frescoes date back to the 14th century and narrate with elaborate, admirable technique the passions of Christ. In the Monastery there are among others, the Last Supper, Deconstruction, Crucifixion and Resurrection. The icon of the Crucifixion depicts part of the mural that adorns the Catholic of Vatopedi Monastery, shed light only on the three faces of the drama. Christ, the "King of Heaven", the Virgin Mary on the left of the Cross and John, bowed down and overwhelmed.
