Images triptych crafted on canvas on wood, coated with pure silver and local gold plated. On the moving leaves of the triptych they are depicted with the same style Saints of Orthodoxy. Virgin Mary Glycosherousa One of the most intimate depictions of the Virgin Mary. Cretan hagiographers of the 15th and 16th used to reproduce the image with a more popular version that of Emmanuel Lombardus – a great painter of post-Byzantine icons – who lived in the second half of the 16th century. The original is exhibited at the Benaki Museum.
