Flowers, white peaches, grapefruit, citrus fruits, melon. Palace : High acidity, dry, medium body, dominant note of mature hardy fruit with notes of tropical fruit and banana. Combining the indigenous varieties Assyrtiko and Atheri that offer the body and oiliness to the palate, with Sauvignon Blanc contributing its typical aromatics, this wine is surprisingly alive and refreshing. In the nose, white peach dominates in combination with notes of grapefruit, melon and white flowers. In the palate, wine is fleshy, bright and lively with high acidity. Although it is very young, the 2018 harvest is extremely expressive with concentrated flavors of ripe and tropical fruits, which are not intended to leave your mouth before one or two minutes pass. Vatopedi Vineyard The vineyards of our Monastery today occupy an area of 70 acres. Wine is part of the monk's diet in festive days and is also offered to the thousands of pilgrims who visit the Monastery annually. At the same time Nama is used in the daily Mass. The vineyards of the Monastery are particularly favoured by environmental conditions. The light, sandy, medium composition and rich in potassium soils, the bouquetes of the unique Athonite nature, are carried with the sea breeze discreetly to the balconies of the vineyards in the adjacent offshore terraces, where through a secret dialogue built in the super thousand-year history of the place, they give the unique characteristics of our wines. The dialogue also of the sun with the vine, especially during the summer months is continuous and "upgrades" the alcoholic degree and phenolic maturity that give unique quality production. Loyal to this tradition, maintaining the old facilities but using modern methods, we wine grapes from the organic vineyards of the Monastery. Witness of the wine tradition are the two stone-built buildings, where the wines are prepared in the old offenders (wineing vessels) and are stored in the cellar of the Monastery. Wines mature in large old wooden barrels.
