Saint Anastasia Duchess Anastasia of Russia was the youngest child of the last emperor of Russia, Nicholas II of Russia. According to testimonies, he was killed by a firing squad in the early morning of July 17, 1918, at the age of 17. She was canonized together with her entire family by the Russian Orthodox Church already in 1981 abroad. Her Christian burial, together with all the members of her family, took place 80 years after their execution, in 1998. Her body was laid to rest with state honors in the chapel of Saint Catherine, in the fortress of Saints Peter and Paul, in Saint Petersburg.
