Saint Constantine and Saint Helen Flavius Valerius Constantine, known as Constantine the Great or Saint Constantine was emperor of the Western Roman Empire and sole emperor. During the years of his empire, he signed the decree of Milan where he established the principle of secularism, wanting to establish internal peace, moved the capital of his empire from Rome to Constantinople and convened the 1st Ecumenical Council of Nice, the most decisive for the future of the Christian Church.
