Saint Constantine His father was Constantius Chlorus and his mother was Saint Helen, Constantine the Great grew up in the imperial court of the Roman Empire, mixed with dozens of different religions. After the death of his father, who held the high office of Augustus, Constantine the Great was proclaimed Augustus in the West, with Galerius holding the same office in the East. He defended the Trinity of God and the unity of the church for many years, with continuous Synods. In the last period of his life, Constantine the Great, suffering from some serious illness, went to the birthplace of his mother, Saint Helen, in Helenopolis, Bithynia, and decided to repent and be baptized. He went to Nicomedia, summoned the Bishops and was baptized. After his baptism, Saint Constantine never again wore his imperial robe, but only the white garment of his baptism.
