Saint Daniel Saint Alexander Nevsky's fourth son, Saint Daniel, was born in the city of Vladimir, Russia in 1261 AD, two years before his father's death. In 1272, after the death of his mother, he arrived in Moscow where he built a church and a monastery in honor of the patron Saint Daniel the Stylist. He faced internal conflicts and attacks by Tatars and, sick, retired as a monk. He received the angelic shape in the monastery of Daniel, where he died in 1303 AD.
