Aristocratic, polite and educated, from a noble family, she married very young and was widowed at the age of only 24. Wealthy and beautiful, she became a pole of attraction for many who sought to stand by her side, something she refused having declared her faith in Christ. She was taken to court to deny her faith and profess faith in idols. Her refusal led to her martyrdom. Her memory is commemorated on January 27.
