Image painted on canvas on wood, with silver coating and local gold plated. The image is accompanied by a free support base. Saint Paisius was born in Farasa, Cappadocia, Asia Minor on 25 July 1924. He was baptized a Christian and left for Greece, along with thousands more refugees. His family stayed in Corfu and ended up in Konitsa, where Arsenios finished primary school. However, he, as a child, was still seeking to become a monk. He worked as a carpenter, served in the army as a radioman and was fired from the army in 1949. That year he first arrived at Mount Athos and was left in various tents. At the Esfimenos Monastery he took the name Averkios. For years he changed Monasteries and in the process shaped his character, distinguishing for his hard work, his love for his "brothers" monks and his attachment to the path of Christian faith. In 1962 he went to Mount Sinai where he lived for two years in the cell of the Holy Galatians and Science and immediately then returned to Mount Athos where he never left again. In 1966 he became very seriously ill and undergoing surgery. His only desire was to return to Mount Athos, where he gradually became known for his way of thinking and a crowd flocked into his cell to meet him. Despite the gradual deterioration of his health, he did not stop working hand in hand for the renovation of the Monasteries, where and when needed humbly in response to the demands of his thousands of visitors. Although his illness had now led him to a distress, he insisted on returning to Mount Athos, his home, where he eventually died on July 12, 1994. In January 2015 the Holy and Holy Synod ranked him in the Holy Diary of the Orthodox Church. The dimensions of the series Video
