Saint Peter Fisher, like his brother Andrew, Peter resided in Capernaum and was married. He was present at Kana's wedding and followed Christ along with the rest of his disciples. Peter is attributed the exhortation to the rest of the Apostles to choose the replacement of Judah, after Jesus ’ Ascension. Peter along with the other eleven Apostles, on the day of Pentecost spoke to the assembled crowd and baptized 3000 Christians. He founded the church of Antioch, baptized and ordained Bishops, passed through Sicily and ended up in Rome, where he ordained St. Lino, first Bishop of the Roman capital. He stayed in Rome to be crucified with the exhortation of Christ himself, who appeared before him walking to Rome with a cross. At the point of his martyrdom and death (64 A.D. or 67 A.D.) was built a magnificent Basilica on the Great Constantine. His tomb is located under the central altar of St Peter's Cathedral in the Vatican.
