Saint Spiridon Protector of the poor, father of orphans, teacher of sinners. Saint Spyridon was born in 270 m. H. in Cyprus from an affluent family of shepherds, a profession that he himself followed despite his education. Simple, kind, full of love for his neighbor, married and had a daughter, Peace. His relic from Cyprus was transferred in 648 AD. in Constantinople and later from his descendants in Corfu, where his tent is ceremonial four times a year.
