She reigned together with her father George III in 1178AD, in a time that was known in the history of the country as the Golden Age. Christiani, granddaughter of Saint David, spread Christianity, built churches and monasteries and distinguished herself for her missionary work. He refused the submission of his country to the Muslim ruler of the Ruma Sultanate and defeated the Muslims in a historic battle for Georgia. In the last years of her life, she lived in the monastery of the Caves of Barzia, where she fell asleep in 1213 AD.
