Saints Peter and Paul A fisherman by profession with his brother Andreas, they both followed Christ as His disciples. After the Ascension of the Son of God, Peter taught the Gospel in Judea, Antioch, Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia. According to Christian tradition, he was martyred in Rome during the reign of Nero (54-68 AD) and crucified in 64 AD. Paul never met Christ alive. He was born in Tarsus in Cilicia and was a cruel persecutor of Christianity. In 36 AD in Damascus, Christ appeared to him and since then he himself became the greatest preacher of the Gospel. He was the founder of the Church of Greece and wrote the 14 Epistles to the Churches he founded, which are found in the New Testament. He was martyred in Rome between AD 64. – 67AD
