It was crafted by a miracle, in 1870 through a dream of the Tatian Monastery, the Russian Holy Monastery of Myrophoros St Mary Magdalene (Jerusalem, Mount Olives). According to Christian tradition, Tatian saw in her sleep a nun who asked her to paint her. When she woke up, the nun saw the picture unhandled in her cell. After the first miracle, the monastery sees in her sleep the Virgin Mary asking her to be taken to her home in Getshmanis, where she is to this day and continues to wonder.
